The shooting death of a 20-year-old man in Brooklyn has resulted in an arrest, according to police. New York authorities arrested another 20-year-old man after the alleged murder took place. So far, it is unclear whether the accused man has retained criminal defense counsel, and no court date has yet been announced.
Very few details about the attack have been released to the public by law enforcement authorities. However, police say the incident took place on the afternoon of Nov. 24 in a check-cashing store in Brooklyn. Police were called to the scene, where they found a 20-year-old man unresponsive and bleeding from a wound in his leg that was later determined to be a gunshot wound.
The injured man was rushed to a local hospital, where he was later declared dead by medical authorities. After recovering a 9 mm pistol from the scene, which police believe to be the murder weapon, an arrest was made in connection with the shooting. The accused now stands charged with murder, as well as a related weapons charge. The report did not elaborate on what caused police to suspect this particular individual.
The investigation into this tragedy is still ongoing, according to New York authorities. When the case goes to court, it will be the burden of the prosecution to prove each and every element of the crimes charged. However, murder investigations are rarely simple, and the accused man's criminal defense team will focus on protecting his legal rights while fighting for the most favorable result achievable.
