Criminal defense: Teen accused of murder in New York

Police in the Bronx say they have arrested a teenager believed to be a gang member after a fatal shooting. The 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged by New York law enforcement with a number of crimess, including murder. He is being held without bail as of this report, and was set to be arraigned on Nov. 28. In court, a criminal defense attorney will represent him throughout the court proceedings. 

Criminal defense: New York woman charged with harassment

A bizarre case on Long Island has resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old woman, who is accused of sending harassing messages to the mother of a child with special needs. The woman, who lives in Melville, was arrested by New York State Police and charged with aggravated harassment among other charges. Police say the woman was harassing a toddler who has a unique genetic condition causing deformity. She was due to make her first court appearance on Nov. 12, and there is no word as to whether the woman has retained criminal defense counsel.

Criminal defense: Man charged with murder in New York state

Police in New Windsor have arrested a man they believe to be responsible for the shooting death of a woman, according to local sources. The 47-year-old New York man, who is from Newburgh, has been arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder. He was due to make his first appearance in court on Nov. 14, though it has not been confirmed whether he has retained criminal defense counsel at this time. 

Criminal defense: New York resident charged with hate crime

A former professor at New York University has been charged after an allegedly drunken vandalism spree directed at a church in Brooklyn. Local news in Williamsburg confirmed the arrest of the 34-year-old academic, who is facing a charge of hate crime criminal mischief. Spokespeople from NYU have confirmed the man is not currently employed by the university, with no fall term assignments. It is unclear whether he has retained criminal defense counsel at this time.
