Multiple charges may require complex criminal defense

For many who are on parole, abstaining from drugs and alcohol is a condition of their release, and for good reason. Impairment by drugs or alcohol quickly leads some to behave recklessly. Criminal defense: 11 charged in drug sting

Criminal complaints unsealed in Brooklyn revealed that 11 members of the Bully street gang have been charged with conspiracy to deliver drugs, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. New York authorities have cracked down on the members of the gang who are also charged with money laundering and illegal weapon possession. It is unclear at this time whether any of the accused individuals have sought criminal defense representation. 

Criminal defense: Man with priors charged with assault

An elderly woman was taken to the hospital after a daylight attack injured her head, according to local sources. Officers with the New York City Police Department arrested the alleged perpetrator, who has been arrested many times before for similar crimes. It is unknown whether the man remains in custody at this time, or if he has retained criminal defense counsel in advance of a trial date.

Many New York residents like to party with their friends. It is logical to assume that the more guests that are present, the greater the chances that two or more party-goers might get into a disagreement. Then again, even a smaller gathering could get out of hand if two or more people have an altercation. A recent party ended in tragedy, and a person party-goers say was an outsider who crashed the party is now in need of criminal defense.

Criminal defense: New York woman faces drunk driving charges

A woman has been charged in Wilton after police said she was unable to maintain the same lane while driving, according to local sources. New York authorities arrested the woman, who is currently being charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. She is set to appear in court on July 22, where she will be represented by a criminal defense attorney. 

Criminal defense: 4 arrested on alleged drug activity

Authorities in the City of Plattsburgh arrested four men on May 27 after they were accused of being part of a drug ring operating in the area. New York state police worked with the Adirondack Drug Task Force as well as local law enforcement to conduct these four arrests. At this time, all four men are facing felony and/or misdemeanor charges. It is unclear whether any of the men has retained criminal defense counsel. 

Criminal defense: Man charged with killing his father

A man has been charged with second-degree murder following the stabbing death of his father in an apartment in Amityville, according to local sources. New York police in Suffolk County arrested the 32-year-old man, who could face serious jail time if he is found guilty. Police say their investigation is continuing, and no trial date has been set at this time. It is also unknown if the man has criminal defense representation. 

Criminal defense: 2 men face murder charges in New York

Two men accused of shooting and killing a father in his apartment before attempting to flee the scene in a taxi have been apprehended by local police. New York authorities in Manhattan arrested both men on the night of May 15. They both face multiple charges, including robbery and weapon and drug possession. As of this report, it is unclear whether either man has yet retained criminal defense representation. 

Criminal defense: man faces attempted homicide charge

A 23-year-old man who was beaten by a crowd after allegedly shooting another man is now in custody, according to local police. New York officials in the Bronx arrested the man for attempted criminally negligent homicide after he allegedly shot another man with whom he was involved in a fight. Police also arrested a second man, who authorities say attempted to abscond with the alleged murder weapon. Arraignments for both men are pending at this time, and it is unclear whether either man has retained criminal defense counsel at this time. 

Criminal defense: Woman charged with manslaughter in New York

A woman in Brooklyn who is believed to have stabbed another woman to death has been apprehended, according to local sources. The 20-year-old woman was tracked down by a joint task force led by New York State police and now faces a manslaughter charge. She is currently awaiting arraignment in a Brooklyn criminal court, and it is unclear whether she has retained criminal defense counsel.
